(im)possible art practices
This year, I would like the PRALIN program to be an invitation to think about (im)possible art practices that surround us. An invitation for a possible thought instead of creating a comprehensive limiting framework that may be applied on independent works with a wide interpretation or purely sensing scale. Works talk for themselves. For me, as curator, there is a space that I would like to occupy and share via the questions and (im)possible answers that directly relate to us as they abstractly linger in our presence.
(im)possible is challenging me both for mentally and practically, like in the background of the modern ecological crisis (what we do individually and collectively, and from which activities we should refrain in order to sustain our presence on Earth), also in the background of the arts in the independent scene (what we do individually and collectively and from which activities we should refrain in order to sustain activities in the art scene).
Therefore, I would like the program PRALIN, or even just the commonly shared time or the individual journey home by tram or shopping in the corner shop, to be at the same time an invitation to think about what we can still do (both in art and in our personal lives), where the borders are and which of them should be crossed and which should be kept at all costs – even at the cost of limiting our own comfort. What is possible and what is impossible.
For this purpose, from today until the end of the festival, we will set up an anonymous think-tank, a virtual timespace, focused on visualizing your thoughts, ideas, fantasies, frustrations, commentaries, and feelings.
